Sucking does not Kill
(More pics inside as usual)
Very ingenious packaging from Chupa-chups. I bought this from 7-11 near our school. I saw this first from my friend Leslie, who gave it to another friend who smokes as a gift.

Its citrus flavor and here is what it says at the back:
RELAX
-Chupa chups Relax is a candy treat with a sophisticated taste and is a fun and tasty alternative to smoking-Chupa chups Relax are fruity mini-lollipops with the refreshing taste of citrus fruits-These lollipops contain Melissa (lemon herb - Melissa Officinalis) and linden (lime blossom) extracts for relaxing taste experience-Each pack contains less than 100 calories
and yeah there we go, now to open it and taste it.

It actually tastes like Dalandan and i have to say, it really has a relaxing flavor. Its not that sweet, its like eating Max candy with less menthol in it.

There are six pieces available in it. I am not entirely sure if these lollipop packs come in different flavors. I’d be surprised it there was something akin to a “menthol” flavor in it.

Although this IS an ingenious packaging from chupa chups i gotta ask you guys this question: Does this make you want to buy lollipops or cigarettes?

Fake Ear Pieces
(More pics inside as usual)
So i went to Makati Cinema Square to get a DVD movie from Mango Manga and i found the shop near it was selling nice looking earpieces that only costs P100.00. So first is i bought the second item that caught my eye. A normal looking headphone

Its a pair of white headphones with the word sony on it. The sounds kinda suck (as in BAD), the grey part was falling off the moment i bought it and to top it off, it started not working after the third day. I dont even want to go back to the store to replace this. I might just ask a friend to mod this or something. THe only reason i bought this is because it was the most normal looking headphones i could think of wearing (i dont really wear black or red earphones). Anyway, its a good thing my first pick was working good.

Yeah i know its pink, and i love pink. People who know me know that i have a thing for pink gadgets. Sounds are pretty decents, nothing fell off, and it still working. THe only thing that irks me a bit is that the sony-logo is wearing off. This pink head phones go well with my iPod for well… colorful reasons.

Like i said i like pink. I didnt buy the cover for the black iPod, the original owner did. I got my iPod from a friend. I guess this iPod was meant for me in the first place.

Buying fake things are a hit and miss. Often times you get crap, other times you get something decent. Very rare is it for a person to find treasure when buying fake goods.
Any experience buying a fake electronics?

House of Prayers
(look inside to see more pics)
I was able to fulfill one of my dreams and i am now planning to pursue it wholeheartedly now. During Komikon’s Summer Fiesta i had the opportunity to work with Natasha Ringor to create an Indie. I was the writer and she was the artist (muse33.deviantart.com awesome works i swear).
We wont be disclosing why its called ‘House of Prayers’ at this point since it’ll ruin the story for you except that the story is about a young orphan boy named Roland Lyell who gets to meet an eccentric nobleman and a chinese lady.

My eyes bled when i saw the comics. Normally a writer would make a storyboard for the artist to follow, i didnt make one sadly. However Tasha was able to recreate what i had in my mind 98% of the time (the other 2% was well, benefit of the doubt of the doubt if you will). She drew them the way i’d imagine how they’ll appear. Awesome woman she is i tell you, she can read your mind and rape it whole (we were supposed to do a yaoi indie, YES I Semi-WROTE A YAOI INDIE, and i’m straight mind you).

We weren’t able to complete it on time and we were only able to finish 32 pages of goodness. Hopefully we can release the complete first volume on this year’s Komikon in October. I hope i can ink and tone by then to help out Tasha
Again visit Tasha’s deviantart page (muse33.deviantart.com)
I hope you guys are able to fulfill one of your dreams =)

Duq-made ads (check the site since this AD is BUTT UGLY and there are more pics in it)
Yes, i know the ad above isnt really the best ad there is. I was too lazy to actually think of an idea that involved FISH, AND FAMILY. But yeah, i’ll think of something regarding food when the time comes. Mind you this is the most RECENT ad i made. Oh the shame!
But my very first serious ad that i made was these two. The first one was entitled “Idea Bubble” the other one was “Spiderman” for obvious reasons. We were supposed to make a print ad that would advertise our make-believe ad agency in our advertising management class.

So this was “idea bubble”. Rafa del Rosario is my “half-a-face” model here XD. The concept was that our agency thought of ideas which most agencies would never think of.

The latter one is titled spiderman for obvious reasons. We went for the theme of being competetive here. We chose this ad over the idea bubble since it looked cleaner. Models were Rafa del Rosario, Mike Gabion and three other random people XD. Final product wasnt placed here since i dont have a copy. Props to my groupmates, Rafa, Mike, Tommy Halili, Angela Yu, Leah Tacuel and Bea Araneta.
After those two, me and rafa decided to make an ad for a contest and here it is “A cut above the rest”

The last ad in this blog is my  pride so far. We entered this contest during IMC week called “AdSpace”. The objective was to promote our school. Me and Rafa (again) worked on this one. I was in charge of design, Rafa was the man in charge of the copy. We won the contest, first place.
What have you guys made so far? Please do share so my mind can perculate more ideas
And yes, i had an afro back then

GameBoys
(check duqs.tumblr.com for more images)
I love old things. Antique trinkets like old pocket watches, ancient cameras that not even a spring strap can hold it or even a really really old car (as long as it doesnt run like an old car or smell like one then I’m happy with it).
Gameboys were my thing when i was in my freshman year in highschool. I even bought a second gameboy just to play against my friends in pokemon in a tag battle.

These two old handheld bricks are almost 9 years old. I hate to say this but back in my day we never had a touch-screen. All we had was a D-Pad and four buttons (start, select, B and A) It really is amazing to see how technology develops so fast.

Yes i was a poketard back then. I think i gave my blue version away. I had two silver version since i was i bought the semi-translated one (chinese version) and the original one right after. I admit i havent played the Gold version to this very day.

This is to my gameboy and nintendo. May my gameboy be able to entertain more people and may nintendo make better games. *cheers* (Too lazy to really elaborate atm).
Ancient meter: 9 years
